Our firm name “Gyosei & Co.” comes from the wish to be like the shining immovable star – Polaris.
Our firm was founded in September 1990 as “Hokuto & Co”. “Hokuto” is derived from the Analects of Confucius, which states: “Governing by the power of virtues can be compared to the Polaris, which remains fixed in place while all the other stars orbit respectfully around it.” Polaris is the immovable star in the full sky, while the Big Dipper (Hokuto) indicates the position of Polaris. As Polaris is at the centre of the full sky as the immovable star, Organisations with virtues (professionalism with humanity) naturally attract sentient stars (talented and highly motivated people).
Although our firm name has changed from “Hokuto” to “Gyosei” as a result of several mergers, we have inherited the philosophy of “Hokuto”.
When you look up at the starry sky, your mind expands magnificently and you forget your narrow-mindedness and small interests.
Our firm name “Gyosei” also fits our philosophy of providing our clients with guiding star “solid signposts” based on “Fairness and Sincerity”.
